Rwanda National Organization of Social Workers (RWA-NOSW) is a Non-Governmental Organization that promotes social change and social development and Facilitates social welfare and social development in Rwanda. It was created in 2012 and joined the International Federation of Social Work (IFSW) the same year.
RWA-NOSW and IFSW Africa Region have organizing ‘the 2021 FSW Africa regional conference in Kigali, Rwanda’ from 23rd to 26th November 2021with the theme: “Towards Ubuntu and Sustainable Development: Social Work position in achieving SDGs”. It will bring together practitioners, trainers, students, and researchers from different professions including social work, key decision-makers, and service users to demonstrate social work contribution to the future of Africa as well as sharing our practice stories.
The 2021 IFSW Africa Region conference will be a hybrid one. This means that it will be held as physical as well as virtual in view of travel restrictions due to the COVID -19 pandemic. The option for online participation will enable more participants to attend the conference despite travel restrictions whilst the option for physical attendance is meant for participants wishing to travel and attend the conference physically.
The conference will be comprised of keynote addresses, plenary sessions, workshops, special forums (at the request of the Hosts or Owners), study visits, and social events – with strict adherence to national COVID 19 regulations. The conference venue, as well as transport and venue(s) for study visit(s) our facilities, shall be barrier-free and accessible to all participants with mobility or other special requirements. The official language will be English. Keynote addresses and plenary sessions will be simultaneously interpreted in Kiswahili, French, and Portuguese.
